SageTV Beta Test Forum Notice

We will use this forum to make announcements regarding the new beta version and allow discussions regarding new functionality. We've also added a Bug Submission form at www.sage.tv/bugs.html to submit information about possible bugs you encounter during the testing of the new version.

In the next day or so you'll also be receiving an e-mail with an update regarding the beta version and the next steps. If you have any other questions, just let us know.

Since the public beta for 1.4 had the log enabled, could there be a way to attach them to the bug report?

A quick question...
Will the Beta include both a server and client. I have moved my server out into the garage and use only the clients in the house.

The beta will support both the client and the server.

Just for clarification. Does that mean there is also a beta version of the client or are you saying the beta will support any existing clients?

The new UI is also carried through to the client version and there will be one available for beta testing.

Will we be able to use the current SageRecorder with the v2 Beta, and/or is there going to be a v2 beta SageRecorder released? I have the following setup:

PC 1: Sage TV (Server) w/ PVR 250 card and HDD for video storage.

PC 2: Sage TV Client, in living room, w/ PVR 350, running SageRecorder too enslaved by PC1, stores video over network onto PC1 per instructions on the sage website.

Boy, I hope this beta is more of a pre-xmas present, instead of a new years present.

Why not just give them a break, stop whining, and wait with patience?

Is there anybody here who thinks the beta will not be released immediately when it's ready? Don't think so. But all the time spent on holding hands and giving meaningless updates is wasted and taken away from productivity and getting that thing ready.

So................. you want us to wait? What kinda fun is that? Um... I have to watch LOTR tomorrow, so I will not be too worried about it for the next 24 hours. Anyways since off topic is on my mind, has anybody purchase a PSX or seen a review of it?

Whatever. I disagree.

If you say you are going to give an update in a certain timeframe, you should give it. Even if the update is 'oops, I guess it will be another week before you get the update. Sorry!'.

But in any case, Frey doesn't owe me anything. As an enthusiastic customer and evangelist I was simply asking for an update. I think that is reasonable.

This seems like as good a place as any.

Jeff/Dan,

Would you prefer to have us post feature requests on this board or submit them as "bugs"?

Submit them as bugs, that way we don't miss them.
