Frame Sync Issues

From time to time sage seems to be lossing frame sync or something. What happens when watching tv for a while, the image will jump vertically and slowly come back to normal. You can even see the black frame area at the bottom of the image. Its kind of like adjusting the vertical lock on an older TV.

Very strange..

Any ideas?

Hey Marcus, what video codec are you using? I have seen what you are suggesting with the elecard/dscaler and double refresh rate selected...

Make sure you have SoftwareDeinterlace = 0 in the registry. (Search for SoftwareDeinterlace in the registry - there should be only one entry). Are you running XP? If so try Default in the video renderer (as opposed to overlay).

I also found that without double refresh rate it goes away, but of course the benefits of double refresh go away as well.

Thanks Mike,
Fortunatly it only happens on occasion. Just thought it might be hardware releated...

I am thinking of getting a new TV for the family room this winter. Perhaps a CRT HDTV set. Not sure yet what I want to do. If I do this then I will be outputting via the RGB port and probably have more options then having to deal with interlaced video etc.

Definitely... I wonder if any of the CRT HDTV sets have DVI? That would be the way to go, but I have not looked at sets in a while...
