SageTV Mac beta and myTV.PVR/WinTV PVR USB2 users

Hauppauge started shipping the newer hardware for myTV.PVR a few weeks ago.

So here's the breakdown:
If you have a myTV.PVR model number 291xx or WinTV PVR USB2 290xx then use the MyTV/x software version 3.6.9

If you have a myTV.PVR model number 241xx or WinTV PVR USB2 240xx then use the MyTV/x software version 4.0.8

Both versions are available at the Hauppauge support site for Eskape products, NOT the eskapelabs.com website:
http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/suppo...rt_eskape.html

4.0.8 does NOT work properly with the older hardware, even in the MyTV/x app itself. We're still working closely with Hauppauge to resolve this issue... The current beta should work with 4.0.8 as long as you have the newer hardware, but keep in mind it is largely untested.

The model number referred to is the number on the sticker on the bottom of the unit. The easiest way to tell if you have a newer unit is they have an IR blaster port next to the S-Video port, the old units do not. (no, the IR blaster is not enabled, even in MyTV/x ... yet)

Does the Mac SageTV have to hitch its wagon to the Eskape hardware, which has limited popularity & poor native software? The Elgato hardware I have seems much nicer and seems to have more robust ( & frequently updated) software & drivers. Even support of the generic WinTV USB2 would be a great improvement.

connection to the server has been lost

I am trying to use a WinTV PVR USB2 model number 240xx and the MyTV/x software version 4.0.8. on an intel MAC mini. The MyTV/x application appears to work fine. I am unable to keep the wintv PVR working in SageTV V6.3.4 however. The program stops responding any time it tries to display live TV or record TV. The displayed message is Lost connection to the SageTV service. Also the red indicator light on the WinTV goes out at the same time. It seems this indicator shows the status of the firmware running on the WinTV.
Any ideas what I can try next to troubleshoot this?
