Any chance of a real portable Placeshifter?

I mean, you can copy PlaceShifter on your USB drive, but the properties file is still saved in the profile folder on the hard disk. Unacceptable if you use somebody else's computer.
Would be nice if it is saved on the usb stick as well.

It would be real nice if it was implemented as a true portable application. See www.portableapps.com on how this works.

I have my email, web browser and im on a 8 GB compactflash.

I submitted a bug report on this a few months back and was told the fix would be in 6.2. I haven't actually tried 6.2 yet to test it.

I renewed my bug report and was given the following workaround.

Arrange the files and folders on your USB stick like so:

Code:
[ ] SageTV
    [ ] Placeshifter
        [ ] .sagetv
            SageTVPlaceshifter.properties
        [ ] jre
            [ ] bin
                (Java executables)
            [ ] lib
                (Java libraries)
        (Placeshifter executables)
        Placeshifter.bat
Create a batch file called Placeshifter.bat in the Placeshifter folder as shown above. Enter the following as the contents of the batch file:

Code:
jre\bin\java -Duser.home=. -cp MiniClient.jar;jogl.jar;gluegen-rt.jar sage.miniclient.MiniClient
This will run Java from the jre folder on the stick and use the .sagetv folder on the stick for properties and imgcache, leaving nothing on the host machine.

I'm also told a real fix will be forthcoming in 6.2 (although it's not in 6.2.5).
