My MVP won't boot under 6.2.4

I recently installed a fresh copy of Windows XP Pro and SageTV beta 6.2.4. I worked for a few days trying to get my wired Hauppauge MVP (rev H2) to boot. It gets an IP and makes it to the SageTV "Booting Media Extender Screen" and then stays there forever. I tried everything. The only thing that resolved it was to uninstall and install 6.1.9. The MVP booted up first try under 6.1.9.

While I was running 6.2.4, I did do a bunch of troubleshooting. I performed network captures which showed a successful initial boot but then constant traffic on port 31099 and hanging on the boot up screen. I also was able to telnet into the MVP and rummage around the Linux command line. Nothing stood out other than I could connect fine, but it would not boot the GUI properly. Additionally, I disabled the SageTV software, installed the MVP software and found that it booted and worked fine also. I telneted into the working MVP under 6.1.9 and the 'ps -ef' command appears to show the same running processes.

My install is fairly simple, both the Windows XP and MVP boxes are on the same subnet on a 100 Mbps switch. The Windows XP firewall is disabled entirely and I didn't see any traffic being dropped or lack of a response in the captures. The Windows XP box is an Intel Pentium 4 HT 3.6 GHz with 2 GB of memory.

Did you keep the Sage log files from 6.2.4? Maybe they can show some light on the problem.

And of course you disabled the hauppauge software before using 6.2.4?

I looked and for some reason, I deleted the old directory. I can switch back and try again to collect the logs.

As for the MVP software, I only installed it after it failed constantly over two days under SageTV. So, it wasn't installed during the failures and therefore not running.

Hmm I think it can be difficult to get it any closer without the log files. Since your 6.1.9 seems to work fine it must have somthing to do with 6.2.4. Ohh, you did unplug the mvp as well right after the update?

I can tell you that my MVP works fine with 6.2.4.

You could also try to delete the MVP property file to see if thats helps. Eg. if you have a reference to an old xml file there that can hold the proces.

Its located in the cliens folder.
