I'm told the problem should be fixed now, so let us know if there are still issues.

Question "No Data" on several channels

The other day, my EPG setup disappeared or something, and I had no channels listed. I re-selected the EPG lineup, and my previous channel selections showed back up, but now I have only "No Data" listings on several channels.

I'm using SageTV version 5.0.4.92.

My EPG lineup is Comcast Cable Ready TV - Memphis.

The channels with "No Data" include:
  • WLMT (local CW affiliate)
  • WKNO (local PBS affiliate)
  • WHBQ (local FOX affiliate)
  • TLC
  • Oxygen
Could this be related to the EPG server changes?

Thanks in advance.

Bruce

EPG Problem

In the last week, I have been getting No Data on certain channels (USA, Sci-Fi.. .). I forced an update once and they filled in but now forcing the update no longer works. I'm using 5.xx and in the last few years this has never happened. Has there been a service change (or other situation) that is affecting my setup??

Check this FAQ, where it suggests removing any properties lines containing 'server_update_id'.

Thank You, Andy!

Removing the 'server_update_id' lines and then forcing an EPG update has restored the 'No Data' channels, and I'm a happy camper again.

I really appreciate your help. And thanks for all the hard work you do around here.

Aaaand it's back to not working again. It was solidly working there for a few days.

It's the same issue, no EPG update and fails to contact the Sage server. Looks like it stopped working 2 days ago as I have 2 days less data then I normally have. No modifications on my part, it just stopped working.

I will also forward on an email to support to notify them.

Thanks!

I just installed SageTV 6.1 today.

I'm running into the same problem: ""There was an error connecting to the SageTV server."

It happens when I enter my zip code to download the programming data.

I tried everything suggested in the forums but I haven't had any luck, so I sent out a support request.

Hope this gets resolved quickly.

-EDIT- Hmmm... looks like it may be a problem with my router. I just got an Actiontec router with my Verizon FIOS TV install last week. It doesn't seem to want to forward port 7760. Other ports forward with no problems. I guess I'll have to keep searching for a solution to get that port open.

-EDIT #2- Well, that's not it. Further testing shows that the router is forwarding correctly. I'll have to wait for SageTV support to get back to me.

Well, I went back in the router and re-entered some firewall settings and
double checked other settings. Then I power cycled the router and now
SageTV can connect to the EPG server! Nice router but I'd say it needs a
firmware update.

Got the same thing as AntMan. Tried everything in the FAQ and tips posted here. Even recycled my router. No go. Still get the error when trying to add sources

"There was an error connecting to the SageTV server."

Update: George and all the great people at Sage support fixed my EPG problem just a few hours ago. He didn't tell me exactly what they did, just that they fixed some server issues.

EPG download is humming along wonderfully now. Anyone still having problems should force an update and see if things are working for you now.

I'm off to check my schedule

Paul
