I am using Windows media center XP as my operating system and have an intel based system.

Has anyone had any experiance in installing two of these cards before? I do not believe that Windows is evening recognizing my second card. I know that I am lacking on information please tell me what additional information you guys need to help a strugling newbe.

Thanks for the help,

Lucas

You can tell if windows recognizes both cards by using the device manager. You should see 4 devices named Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II (23xx) (Tuner N), N should be 1 or 2. I do not currently have 2 PVR500 cards installed but I have had in the past. When you configure Sage you should also see 4 tuners available. Have you even installed 1 card yet?

I installed the one card already and it works fine.

I ran into problems when I tried to install the second card. I do not think windows was correctly recognizing the second card.

what kind of problems? Both card should use the same driver, so most likely windows would automatically use the existing driver that was installed. If the second card shows up in device manager, but with no driver installed, you should be able to manually install the driver.

If you think you may have a bad card, swap the first card with the second card and then leave the first card out of the system. See if windows can use the second card in place of the first.

I installed a second PVR-500 card a few months after the first. Remembering to turn off the power was the biggest hurdle but otherwise, Windows saw it upon boot-up and Sage let me immediately configure the two additional tuners. Can you provide more details on the actual issues?

Good luck!

I got it to work last night. Thanks for the help. I wiped my drivers from the previous pvr 500 and downloaded new ones. Then I installed each card individually. Now sage TV detects both cards as does windows. Must have been some small problem with my previous drivers I guess. Thanks for the help guys.
