need little info, when it comes to choosing qaulity of recordings

Hi there!! i am wondering if it is possible to choose my own personal encoding bitrate, for recording using the sagerecorder ??? under the encoding tab it gives a list of options, MPEG2 MAX QUALITY, DVD LONG PLAY etc

Is there any way i can sett my own defualt encoding bitrate, like MPEG2 6000kbs, so i can calculate the lenght (time) of the programe i want to record to fit on to a dvd-r disk......???? i noticed snapstream had this option some were with in it, even thou it sucks!!!.

+ do you no of a link of were i can find out what bitrates + resolutions are used for the encoding options with in sage recorder ??? need to no what bitrates are used to find which is best for me.

what bitrates + resolution do all these options use.

BEST
CVD
DVD EXTRA LONG PLAY
DVD STANDARD PLAY
FAIR
GOOD
etc
etc!!.

I think the information you want is HPquality.txt . I had trouble locating it even when I knew it existed. Goto support page, then Customizations, then select the card in the Customize Recording Quality. The link I gave is for the Hauppauge cards.

I have checked and there is no info on the sage tv support site, that gives detail of bitrates etc for the pvr 250..... this is a must add to the sage site!!
