Full CPU Usage
Has anyone noticed that when started Sage
may run at 100% CPU usage for an hour before it comes up with a recording schedule that it can run? Sometimes there's a show I really want to record in the next 10 minutes and I typically miss the first hour of it. I wish Sage would do things in a more incremental fashion. I can't believe that scheduling is that complicated. |

What version are you running, what's your setup?
Some people were having trouble with some of the older versions. |

I'm running 1.4.10 using the bugfix Sage jar file for the
"multi-tuner lots of manual recordings" bug. I see 100% CPU usage sometimes when I playback. It just seems to go off and recalculate something... |

I have also seen this problem but not lately. I would usually kill sage if it ran more than 5 mins. at 100% usage. I don't know the cause but I think it goes away after a while. My theory is that it is trying to get your favorites in some sort of order so all shows can be recorded. The favorites logic does seem to take into account future airings. Do you have a lot of favorites? Did you add a lot at 1 time? I believe my problems with this seemed to subside when I only only added 1 favorite at a time. I do firmly believe it is related to the favorite logic be cause I notice the CPU usage goes up just before I get conflict warnings.

I had this problem once and it turned out to be a bad file in my video library.
