How are you guys running Sage in your system startup?

What is the bext way to configure SageTv Server to run automatically on Windows XP so that it starts up and goes to sleep without a user having to log in?

Well, it doesn't appear that anybody ever got it to work...although I did check that thread.

So I guess the better way to ask this is: "Is anybody currently running Sage on a Windows XP Pro machine such that it starts up automatically on its own? So if I kill the power to your house, and then turn it back on, will Sage come back to life all on its own?"

Yes-but I only have the one user created (other than the Administrator). (And this user does not have a password.) It boots up and I have Sage startup minimized in the system tray. And my BIOS is set to reboot to OS. And this works for me.

Yup, mine starts when windows logs in too.

i use the tweak xp to auto login then girder takes control and starts up sage first, waits until i get the main menu, then sleeps it and brings up myhtpc.

as a side note i also use my USB-UIRT to to send a tv on command, video 1 and turn my stereo reciever on and change it to the dvd input when i reboot.

i wanted to be able to completely reset my system with a reboot, incase of a freeze up. Its a great WAF feature too.

If you just want Sage to start automatically that's no big deal. What I do is have Sage set to start with windows in the tray and I enabled auto logon.

From the run command run "control userpasswords2" and uncheck the box that says users must enter password. That way you can have auto logon and still have a password.
