Auto Compression Fails

My HD shows are failing compressions but SD shows are transcoding fine. Is there a log file where I can look up WHY the transcode failed? I use SageMC by the way.

I just noticed I can't convert HD recordings either. I started converting one recording and it ran for a few minutes. Then I queued up another conversion and noticed the first one failed. In the log I found "Carny is stopping processing early to do a new job..." I'm not sure what this means. It sounds like Sage stopped converting the first recording when I queued up the second.

I should note I'm just using Sage v6.2.10 without any relevant customizations. Can you convert shows using the built-in functionality?

I tried doing it manually and it still fails. It's all done by SageTranscoder.exe so it shouldn't make a difference how it's launched. Does anyone know if the transcoder drops a log file somewhere?

Actually, there appears to be quite a few reports of this in the forums. I think Sage thinks they fixed it. We should submit bug reports.

Well, I just submitted a bug report. Seems like all "MPEG4 HDTV" presets would fail. I can get it to convert with "MPEG4" presets, but I don't get audio with the converted file

Alright, here's the weird part. George from SageTV Support instructed to try to do a short timed recording and convert it. I did a 5 min one, it worked. So I got curious, and start trying various lengths of timed recordings. I did 15 mins, 30 mins, 45 mins, 50 mins, and 55 mins. They all converted fine. However, none of my recorded favorites will convert, including 30 min and 1 hr shows!

I'm having similar results. Maybe I'll ask him if I can mail a DVD with a sample file on it.
