Lost channel names and EPG data since channel Dave was launched!

Hi,

I am new to sage tv and have been enjoying the sage tv software for the past three weeks. All was working well until I did a rescan for new channels the other day.

The rescan found channel dave but renamed ITV1,ITV2, E4 and others on the same band(8200) to DTV2.1 and DTV2.2 and so on. I am getting 0-0-8264-5 for itv1 in the channel set up.

I know it should be 9018-8200-8264-5 but the rescan seems to be missing this data now

So now I have no EPG data for these channels

Does anyone have any fixes for this?

I am using the midlands Waltham transmitter.

I have completely removed sage tv and all associated files and tried a fresh clean install to no avail.

managed to get this fixed now by entering 9018-8200 in the sage properties files where the channel data was missing. This cured the lack of data for those channels in the EPG. Then I had to manually add the correct channel names in channel setup and assign correct channels.
Bit of a pain having to do this when everything worked perfect before the arrival of channel dave and all channels scanned in faultless.

Wonder if any one else ran into this glitch before after rescanning?

I am using nova t-500 dual digital tuner and sage 6.2..

I also have the same problem after rescanning.

I am also using midlands Waltham transmitter and two Nova T-500 tuners.

I first noticed this about two weeks ago before Dave was launched and I had to revert to a backup version of Sage to get me out of trouble.

I am able to receive this new channel on the UKTV History frequency along with all the EPG data.

Yep I've seen this too on the Mendip transmitter.

I filed a bug report but have switched back to using the SBDA recorder for now - which incidentally gets more channels anyhow for me at least.

Same here on the emly moor transmitter (huddersfield/leeds area). Hopefully it will sort itself out in a few days. Bit of a pain though.

Same problem on the Hemel Hempstead transmitter

Got the same problem on the Hemel transmitter, tho just install Sage again, after giving up on it for a while.

Didn't realize all had been working ok until read these posts.

One question if anyone can help...

Confused as to why EPG data is being received, as according to Sage FAQ, we need to the the XMLTV plugin to get program data from the net, as opposed to directly off the telly signal? I take it from the posts above that it's "just" a matter of getting the config settings right in the frq file to ensure EPG data is recevied from the broadcast signal?

Thanks in advance

Jason

I can’t remember exactly how I set mine up but I think there was an option to not use guide or XMLTV data with the tuner, it then seems to use the standard Freeview EPG.

I do sometimes get “NO DATA” gaps in the EPG even when that data is available on my TV, but this doesn’t cause me too many problems.

Hi Cyberstock. I'm new to Sage and having exactly the same problem as you on the Hemel Transmitter.

If you have managed to get this working could I be cheeky and ask for a copy of your .frq file?

Many thanks!

I have tried stopping the Sage services and front end then modifying the .frq file to correctly add the missing channels isentified as DTV2.1,DTV2.2 etc however Sage does not appear to pick any of the changes up in the guide.

Which additional files do I need to modify to manually add these channels?

Many thanks for any help!

Slowly getting there – have managed to edit the .frq file and the sage.properties files after finding the correct channel details using scanchannelsbda_uk. After this I now have EPG data for the missing channels and can tune them correctly.

My final (hopefully) problem is that the channels are still named DVT2.1, DTV2.2 etc. despite putting the correct channel names in the .frq file.

Does anyone have any idea of how to rename the channels in the guide?

Unfortunately I don’t know how to add or remove guide data, I can’t find it stored anywhere in files so its probably not possible to manually edit it.

Sage have fixed this problem now, just backup and replace your existing copies of these files.

http://download.sage.tv/users/qian/TSSplitter.ax
http://download.sage.tv/users/qian/DShowCapture.dll

The latest beta also scans the channels correctly.

I'm having the same problem, and I've replaced those files, but they haven't fixed the problem. Do I need to do something else after swapping them?

Still no joy. Would my settings be different from the one's mentioned above? I'm on the Fenton transmitter in stoke on trent.

modding the frq files did nothing for me when I encountered this problem.

The sage.properties edit cured the epg data but not the channel names..

those new files
"http://download.sage.tv/users/qian/TSSplitter.ax
http://download.sage.tv/users/qian/DShowCapture.dll"
listed above cured everything for me..

Make sure you remove your video sources after installing those files then close sagetv reload then add your video sources..

you could try fully removing sagetv then installing the latest beta if you are still having problems.

Nope, no joy with that either. All I want is the EPG data really. I can live without channel names.
I've been trying to find this scanchannelsbda_uk, but every link I've found for it has turned out to be a dead one.
