I can't seem to import this into 6.3.6 on my HD media extender. Any suggestions?

You might need to do the import on the server and then load the modified STV on the extender.

Got it. I also re-read the release notes and got the icons set up. Is there a way to make the icons smaller on the main menu? I found how to move them, but not how to scale them. Also, when I add a menu item, how do I add an icon for it?

pgup/pgdn scales whatever object you are modifying. Icons are added in the Dynamic Menu configuration. Of course you need the icon file to be present in your theme.

Hey, just saw the updated SageMC (Online Videos!!!). I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but it sounds like Dirk rolled in all of my changes (and probably improved a few of 'em while he was at it ) so SageMC_169_ep is not nessisary anymore.

Well, I think I found/fixed all of the DVD issues but I'm holding off on a release until I finish testing possible new feature (auto-IVTC detection!!!).

edit: The meathod i'm using to detect IVTC is actually looking really solid. Basically, I take the same 10 clips that I use for crop detection and try and encode them using mencoder's pullup filter with verbose logs turned on. Those logs look like...

Where the the numbers i'm looking at are the duration. Every time I see a 3/2 pattern, I make a note of it, and at the end I take the...
Code:
# of 3/2 patterns / total # of patterns
And so far in my testing that percentage is giving me a very accurate detection of shows that need IVTC and shows that don't.

DVD Error

I'm not sure what the problem is here but I continuously fail to generate an iso or burn a DVD. It would really help to have a walkthrough for a basic SageTV mpg to DVD burning. The most descriptive error I see is the "DVD ERROR" which leaves me at a loss. I have a debug.zip file so I can provide whatever is meaningful from it. Any assistance will be appreciated.

Sorry, I forgot to mention on the download page that the DVD burning is in a pretty iffy state. I've got a few fixes that i'll be releasing this week that should get it working much better.

Compression tool for Extender?

Obviously, I understand that there's no hole to shove the DVD into on either type of extender so there's no point in you supporting writing of DVDs but why don't you at least support using your compression tool via an extender?

I'm fairly sure everything works on the MVP and HDextender, although I haven't tried it yet.

Thumbs up SageMC Video Tools v3.0h!

Change list-
  • Feature: Added Auto Telecine detection option for compression
  • Bugfix: Fixed multiple profile issues including 5.1 AAC w/mencoder, commercial cutting from mpegs, splitting a/v, and a few more I can't think of.
  • Bugfix: Fixed issue where adding multiple files to a videoDVD would randomly ignore videos
  • Bugfix: Title,Episode,Description now show up in DVD menus
  • Workaround: Added new option to select PAL in SageMC Options->Video Tools->DVD.

The Auto Telecine detection might still be a little rough around the edges so I don't enable it by default. I recommend creating a custom autoEncode profile with it enabled to play around with it.

Happy Holidays!

EP - Hey, I've been trying for hours on end today to load SageMC but I can't get it to work right.

A few questions I have are:

When installing your SageMC, where do you install it to is it "C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV" or to "C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs"?

Also, If I install it ro C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV and load it it loacks up on my within about a minute, meaning I cannot click on anything ro change menus, BUT the clock continues to change although the screen does not refresh and and the number just write on top of each other.

Also, when setting up Dirmon, I cannot get the service to start. If I use a fake user name it will not install, but if I use my login, it will install/uninstall just never start.

Remember that EP isn't the developer for SageMC itself, just an add on. There is another thread here specifically about SageMC http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17979

It is installed to c:\program files\sagetv\sagetv. Then you load it as a Sage Application Package under Detailed Setup --> Advanced --> SageTV Application Package.

For Dirmon, the user must be granted the User Right to act as a service.

Ah, I didn't have a full download of MC. Mine was actually about 1/2 the size of the latest one....weird.

Trying it out now.

That is to say just about the only add on I use (other than my own) and definitely the best one out there..
