SageTV Service Control new user account?

I need to change user name/password in:
SageTV Service Control
Run Service as User:
Change user
password

When I do it says invalid user name/password
I doubled and triple checked both but still get problem
HELP!

right click on "My Computer" choose manage and locate the SageTV Service under services. Update the info there.

It will not accept the new user or password in there as well.
The old user/password does not even exist anymore.
Now what???

Sounds like you're entering the wrong user name or password. Are you on an NT domain? If so, try entering it as domain\user. If not, try computername\user. If that still doesn't work, go back to wherever it was you set up that user account in the first place, change the password to something else, and make sure the "must change password" checkbox is not checked.

You might also want to make sure you can actually log in to Windows with that username before configuring the service to use it.

It all started when I installed windows home server OEM release.

It did not accept my simple password.
It needed a complex one.
So I went to USERs in control panel and changed the password.
The SageTV service would not run because it could not login
tried to change password but still not good.
SO.............
I added another user with admin ability.
Used that for WHS
changed original user password back
rebooted with login to original user with simple password
ran SAGETV service and everything was fine

Tried again to user/password in both places (services and running service)
but no good.

But some how WHS now says my password don't agree
AND it is telling me a user name that I NEVER setup/used
needs to match passwords on my winxp home and WHS

What the hell.......................
