Does size matter for a Power Supply?
If I've got a computer that 'requires' say 350 Watt powersupply to run all the drives, etc. Is it better to have a 350 Watt powersupply? or is it better to have a 500 or 700 Watt powersupply?
If my powersupply is 'too large', will it draw only what it needs and therefore run cooler (and less likely to fail? Or will I just be wasting electricity? thanks, rwc |

Power supplies are only about 80% efficient, so they actually draw more power than they need, but it is related to how much power is used by the system, so a larger power supply shouldn't waste more power than a smaller one.
Tech report has a large article/review of power supplies |
