Can the HD extender wake the server from sleep?

I am wondering if the new HD extender will be able to wake the server from sleep? I seem to recall reading that the SD extender would not do that. I would really like to be able to sleep the server and only have it turn on when it is time for a recording, or the extender is turned on. I currently cannot sleep my server because it screws up FSE.

I doubt the HD extender has this feature or capability. But as an alternative, you can wake the server from standby via a remote if you have an IR receiver such as a USB-UIRT and girder, if your motherboard supports wake from USB.

Depends if the software supports it. But it SHOULD be able to do that with some addons? Just send out the MAC address from the server a couple of times and WOL should activate the server.

The functionality would have to exist inside the application package loaded on the extender. This might even be unintentionally possible through a feature of the new extender that allows you to select servers.
