HD Media Extender With Vista

Any information if the new HD extender will have the same issues with Vista that the MVP unit had (random freeze/reboots)? I think this was an issue with the new TCP stack in Vista and I have problems with my wireless MVP and Vista. Maybe LAN connection will not be an issue.

I asked that question but did not get a reply. However, the thread concerning the MVP issue heated up. So I expect it does apply to the HD extender. The Vista issue is supposed to be resolved with the SP1 release in the first quarter of next year. I will not consider purchase of the HD extender untill I see a fix for the MVP extender.

We're able to reproduce the MVP issue with Vista quite reliably over here. We've never been able to get it to happen with the HD extender with Vista....and we REALLY tried.

So you shouldn't have to wait for Vista SP1 to use the STX-HD100 with Vista.

That's really good to know. I only had that MVP issue with Vista with a fairly underpowered system. I'm hoping that a reasonably modern system shouldn't have any such issues.
