What am I missing? HVR 1600 clear-qam question

I scanned for channels and it worked the first time. I inadvertently deleted NBC-HD and now whenever I scan, I find zero channels.
I've deleted the sage.properties file several times (while the services and sage were off). I tried only having the cable connected to the ATSC port while I scan.

All of the local HD channels still work in wintv2000.

I've tried everything I can think of except trashing the sage install and doing it all from scratch again.

BTW, I'm using the most current version.

Any ideas?

One time when I messed up my remap I deleted the source in the source setup, then re-added it. This fixed my issues, maybe it will work for you.

I also have found that if the sage screen saver kicks in before the scan is complete, then the scan stops, so I set my screensaver for something like 8000 seconds while scanning.

Are you sure you have the PVR-1600 that receives QAM? They made two different versions of that card. I bought an early one that does not decode QAM, only ATSC. You said you connected your cable to the ATSC jack. I do not know if Haupauge relabeled the jack when they added QAM support in the later versions. If you are saying that WinTV gets the QAM channels, then I'm all wet. But you stated that WinTV gets local HD. I wasn't sure if you meant that it gets over the air ATSC.

Some HVR-1x00 users were having this 'no channels found' issue when doing additional channel scans in SageTV. They needed to delete their .frq file.

Here's a thread that discussed the HVR-1x00 install process.
