Placeshifter is doesnt like little Australian girls?
My placeshifter has become prejudiced against Bindi the Jungle Girl. Selecting a Bindi recording for playback causes placeshifter to just vanish, back to the windows desktop. The end result of this is a lot of 3 year old screeching at breakfast time, which is just about the last time I need to hear screeching.
Any other recordings play back fine. Bindi is a firewire record, but others from the same stb play just fine. Incidentally, it is kind of funny to realize the "early warning" sage emergency system that has been created in my household. When I'm messing with the server, I occasionaly hear a high pitched wail from far off in the house, and that's how I know I knocked an mvp offline.

that's because your toilet water swirls down the opposite direction of toilets in the US.
is it transcoding to the placeshifter? In the placeshifter settings, if you set to "Playback media without Transcoding", then it won't. If it is transcoding, then something about that file might be causing the transcoder to crash placeshifter. I would try updating Java and testing other recordings from that firewire source.

Actually, I'm in the Land of the Free, Home of Clockwise Flushing . USA! USA! (tragically, I did have to go flush the toilet to verify my post here. Just another dumb american, I guess.)
Other recordings from the same stb work just fine, but all of the Bindis crash PS. I already have the most updated Java. Where do I find those settings? I didn't see anything quite like what you stated either on the PS itself or in the clients file on the server. I have to go now, a dingo is eating my baby. Thanks!

its in the Placeshifter's Server Manager window, it's what you see when you launch Placeshifter. There's a Settings button at the bottom.
