Yes it supports the same aspect ratio's that the regular clients do. There's even an aspect ration button at the bottom of the remote to switch between the AR's if you need to.

I did get one early, but I can't keep it as it is only a review unit . I'm going on a cruise over Christmas so I have to wait until we get back to evaluate finances and then I'll justify buying one . I like it enough that Its going to be hard to give it up....

The button will be nice to correct the crappy stretch-o-vision on the new HD channels. Why the hell can't they get this right? It is incredible that many consumers actually prefer stretched images.

I don't think we've seen the full extent of the aspect ratio capabilities.

That's a bit cryptic Stanger - care to elaborate? Do you think there will be more 2 it than just the 4 AR's that we have come to know and love in Sage? If so what?

Wasn't sure how much I should post, but I got the OK so

You can specify additional Aspect Ratio modes in addition to the default ones. I haven't had a chance to play with them, but there's a lot more capability than what it ships with, I haven't had a chance to play with it yet though.

Are you talking about this property in the v6.3 beta release notes:
Quote:
Added client-specific property 'extender_resolution_extra_modes' which allows specifying additional video output resolutions for the STX-HD100
I haven't done anything with that property, but figured I would mention it.

No, actually I think this is the one I meant:
advanced_aspect_ratio_extra_modes=

this works pretty well:
Code:
extender_resolution_extra_modes=1920x1080p@24|standard\=1080p24
