SageTV and VMWare

I am evaluating SageTV on WIndows XP under VMWare. I have the latest VMWare server 1.0.4 running Windows XP with the latest service packs (no other app installed) and updates running SageTV 6.3.5. The screens are completely garbled, I cannot read half of the things. Anybody else is experiencing these issues? Any idea how to get it resolved?

I think I have found the solution. I have uninstalled the JRE 1.4 that comes with Sage and installed JDK 1.6u3 (JRE 1.6 woul be probably sufficient). It all looks good now.

I had the same issue and I had to go into the properties file and disable the core animation. Once I did this all was back to normal.

In a similar vein, albeit with VMware Infrastructure in mind, I am wondering how USB2 encoders and a HDHomerun would work (if at all) in as an ESX instantiation.

Anybody tried a tuner/encoder while running sage in a VMWare instance?
