Updated 6.3 - Java.lang.nullpointer error

This just completes my run of horror with sage and vista of late.

Got my HD extender, decided to update sage to 6.3. Now sage won't run and stops loading with this:

"An exception occured in Java
java.lan.NullPointerException"

Since the advent of Vista and HD content I have just about had it with HTPC's. My wife is about to shoot me.

Next system-- DVR box from DirectTV

I had 6.2.10 installed prior to the HD extender arriving and then upgraded to 6.3.5. Well, that caused the sage service to terminate shortly after starting (rinse, repeat, since it's set to restart). I did get it to stop crashing by reinstalling my ATI video drivers but there were serious issues. I wound up uninstalling and reinstalling (edit: sage), then it worked fine.

had similar problem

I am running Win2K but I was having a lot of issues with Java after the upgrade. I went into the settings and removed all old versions of Java then reinstalled the latest from the java website. That seemed to do the trick.
