Network Encoding questions

I purchased another Sage license so I could run a 2nd computer as a network encoder but I've got some questions and the manual doesn't say much about network encoding. For example, does the copy of Sage being used as the network encoder have to be configured (recording directories, MPEG decoder, language, etc) or will it simply get the information it needs from the master Sage installation? Another question is that I've got two Placeshifter licenses and do I need to register them on both Sage installations or just the master Sage installation? Thanks.
