On Line Videos Won't Play on HD Extender

Can't get most of the online videos to play. All I get is the message "Video does not have MPEG4, FLV or AVI File Type". I don't get it, as online videos play just fine on my Sage Client.

There was a similar thread where someone had problems playing online videos, but no one has mentioned they saw this message when trying to select an online clip.

Any tips would be appreciated.

I've seen this message but I also see this message occasionally on the server, esp. with some Google videos.

I've never seen this before using the new HD extender. And, as I said, my client plays these online videos just fine. Can't get any online material, except perhaps Google, to play on the HD extender.

Do those same videos play on a PC client? If so, then make sure you've got v6.3 installed on your server and that the HD extender is using a v6.3 STV, not some older STV.

If those same videos don't play on a PC client, then be aware that Google Videos include videos from multiple sources & sometimes SageTV can't play the video included in the link.

I finally found the culprit. While STV was current on my Server, the STV on the media extender was not. After updating it, all is well.

Sorry if this is a hijack, but I've got a similar issue. Only I don't get any error messages, I just don't get any videos loading at all. It'll go to the "downloading video list" message and then just stay there. Online videos work fine on the server. This is the case for youtube/google/all online videos.

I'm assuming this is related as well: Using the SageMC STV, the IMDB features don't work either - while they work fine from the server.

So basically, whether in SageMC or the default STV, all the online features work fine directly from the server, but don't work at all from the HD extender, even though I don't get any error messages.
