Firmware Updates to HDExtender via telnet?

Is it possible to check for and/or run a firmware update via a telnet session to the unit, or must this be done through the gui at startup? Would be convenient if I could telnet into a running system and do a firmware check and update.. if necessary..

Just curious..

PS... when will these things be back in stock? I assume not in time to get another for a gift??

I suppose you could download the image and run md5sum on it. Then when md5sum is changed, it is time to update. Use the unbricking procedure in the FAQ to find the url for the image.
