Ben,

I really like everything you've been putting out. Thanks for the teaser! I just showed my wife and she's very impressed Can't wait to take these screens for a whirl

Thank you for all your efforts especially the learning curve I've noticed that you're going through with studio/Java.

Ben,

That all looks really great. Any hints on a release date?

I also think you guys should all get together and maybe divide and conquer on one big mega import.

That way you guys aren't all rewriting the same things.

Each screen will have a list, cover flow and movie wall type view and a standard menu system between all screens. Hopefully I'm not being to ambitious and it will all turn out ok

If anyone with photoshop or programming skills would like to help in this project then please PM me. I'm desperate for some graphics to be made for the menu and on-screen items.

All suggestions and comments are always welcomed
Wow, those look really good.

Have you looked at Paint.NET it's much more approachable than Photoshop?

I second Paint.Net. It's definately not as intimidating and pretty powerful.

I was rather hoping to get someone to make the images for me I'll check out Paint.Net later though and see what I can do.

Edit:

Yay, some forum users responded and I now have enough people helping me with Project Ortus.

I honestly don't know which screens will wind up being used on a long-term basis yet. Right now, I'd say I would definitely prefer your music wall to any other variation of what I've seen from other people.

This actually brings up a good question. This isn't an all-or-nothing thing, right? We could choose to use Ortus for TV and your Music Wall for music, right? I think SageMC lets you choose a screen for each, but wanted to verify.

Additionally, I could see myself using one screen for personal usage, but a different one for guests or during parties.

I say yes. Not sure what Ben's is going to look like but I really like the direction you are going with yours.

Plus, as you said, it gives people options.

Don't worry more is too come mine will be a "wall of imports" with all three screens (picture, movies, photos) as one import when done.

No more screeny's though probably until I am done.

I want an uniform look in Sage.. The wall looks nice and is easier (for me anyways) when dealing with large libraries (2000+ videos, 4000+ music albums).. Having said that, I also like ben's info screens (although I would perfer "select/enter/ok" start the media and "info" goto the info screen).... They both highly compliment each other!!

Im kinda glad my sage box crashed.. Its forcing me to go thru the forums again to refind everything.... now I donno what to do... I guess ill play the waiting game

Dual Pane View

I just wanted to give everyone a sneak peak at an import I've been working on to bring some of the functionality of the Malore menus to SageMC and integrate it with Fanart, etc. Right now I'm calling it Dual Pane View and only is for Recorded TV with very minimal filtering. I'm working on the filtering, options menu, etc. It will never be as functional as the Malore menus but hopefully it will still be useful. Comments and suggestions are of course welcome.

Glad you guys like it

RE: banners - right now I'm concentrating on the menu system (filtering, sorting, etc), and link points to and integration with the rest of the UI but once i get all that figured out I'll look at adding banners. I'm not sure if it makes sense to be as part of the table or as a true banner across the top of the screen but I will look at both and probably make them options. Thanks for the suggestion

Thanks for listening I just like the idea of scrolling banners over text. I would do it in my movie wall if there were banners for movies

Here's my current layout and theme. The layout I haven't really played with yet so it's just the default vertical layout.

It's important to keep the Screen shot thread fresh right

What I'm working on now, expecting to release in about a week, is called Serenity for SageMC. There's a thread started for it already, but here's a sample:

All of the people that said they like VMC better because it was "prettier" can't say that now. I honestly can't believe that you guys can come up with layouts that look this good. Thanks so much for putting in the time to do this for us programming challenged folks. For those that think that they can't compete with other projects, don't be dumb like that. Your projects might make someone with different tastes happier than another. I honestly wish you guys would stop making it so hard for me to choose just one layout. My wife gets mad at me because I can't decide on one to stick with.

Good problem to have IMHO.
