No audio
OK, just got SageTV installed after a bit of trouble. However, I can't get audio to work. I set both audio and video decoder to the WinDVD decoders from the Hauppauge program. I get the tv picture, but no audio. I tried all the different choices in the audio decoder as well as soundcard, but I get nothing. any ideas?
Hardware: P4 2.4GHz/Asus P4PE motherboard ATI Radeon 9000 Hauppauge WinTV PVR250 M-Audio Revolution soundcard All drivers are updated to latest.

Dose WinTV2000 work?.
It could be you don't have audio hookup to the card line-in. Also make sure it set to Wave/MP3 or Wave or something like that in SageTV |

Try setting the audio decoders to default in SageTV setup. I don't think it works if you set the audio to the WINDVD decoders.
Leave the video set to the WINDVD decoder. John

I don't actually recommend using any sort of hard-wired line-in connection for audio. It kind of limits you to a single line-in source :-) Indeed, this was one of the primary reasons I originally bought the PVR-250 over any of those Bt848-based Tuner cards that have been so popular... The PVR-250 is quite capable of sending the PCM-encoded audio over the PCI bus to the same file it is sending the MPEG-2 encoded video. Playback should have nothing to do with the PVR-250 (i.e. during playback, the PVR-250 shouldn't even need to be plugged into the PC). My suggestion: Capture a program to a file and attempt to play it back in Windows Media Player. Does that work? |

Well, I tried all the different audio settings, without success. WinTV2000 works fine. However, I installed Theatertek DVD and then set Sage to use their audio and video decoders and it now works fine. Strange.
