I am getting the sparkles on 1080 with mkv

Trying out my new STX-HD100 with some movies in MKV container format. When I play them they get an extended case of the Sparkles. For example there is this movie (1 in a series of 6) that starts with scrolling yellow letters into space. In that part the leters all get pixelated or get like extra noise pixels around the edges. It is fairly constant as in a non random ocurrence like once every three or two seconds. This happens all throughout the movie. Then there is this other movie (1 in a set of 3) that starts with green semi random letters all over the place. I get the sparkles again. This sparkles happen in all 9 movies of the seires. This movies claim to be in 1080p format. If you are still with me, this is were it gets wierd. If I try 720p versions of the flicks, every thing is perfect. Basically anything 720p plays fine, but I haven't been able to play anything 1080p without the sparkles. My setup is component out to 720p.... but if I put component out 1080i it is the same thing.

Anyone else expiriencing something like this.
