Feature Request: SageTV Film Library

Hello,
I just thought I’d through the idea out there to see if there might be any support for a Film Library style interface for use with a selected folder in the video library.
The Library would list all films in the selected folder and display basic metadata captured in the films property files and might look something like this:

I myself probably wouldn't have the first clue about putting something like this together in studio, but if there is enough interest maybe Sage or another developer could help us out?

Many Thanks,
Mat.

Thanks Miller,

Yes, but I think this import is mainly aimed towards importing DVDprofiler data and unfortunatley this 2 column format is no longer supported by this import.

The interface I am proposing wouldn't require any new functions outside of the existing standard STV, but would only modify how the GUI displays the data.

Just to clear a couple things up, there are two parts to it (3 actually) DVDPro2Sage, a java class which parses DVD Profiler XML files, a SageTV menu that imports that parsed data into SageTV's database, and originally there was the two-pane menu as well....

mrcandu, did you that already?

Yes, I did try that originally, but as you mentioned in the IVL thread post, the import didn't work with the current STV (Or at least nothing seemed to happen).
However.........
After re-reading your IVL thread post you mentioned the 2 pane view does still work with the current STV and shortly after that I stumbled across the internal screen "Video Library Stanger89 View" using nielm's dynamic menu system.

This is indeed basically what I was after. I will have a crack at modifying the import as per your suggestions in the IVL thread post and maybe we could also try bringing the imports view up to date to incorporate the current STV's menu backgrounds and animations? I'm sure I will pick your brains some more about this back in the IVL thread

Thanks again.
Mat.
