DVD to DIVX with subtitles

Hi,
I seem to have a problem creating DIVX files from DVD's with subtitles where the subtitle is not already rendered into the video frames.

To rip a subtitled DVD to DIVX, currently I would use DVD shrink to re-author the DVD to hard disk with the main movie and appropriate audio and subtitle selected. Open the created VOB file in DR.DIVX, see that my selected audio & subtitles are ticked and then proceed to encode the DIVX file. I assumed this process would then merge the subtitles with the video file, but this does not seem to be the case.

If anyone has an idea where I am going wrong, or has a better suggestion for backing up DVD content with subtitles, please let me know.
Many thanks,

Mat.

Thanks Gerry. I downloaded this program and had a play about yesterday evening. I encountered a few problems but nothing I’m sure that can't be worked out, so this could be the answer I was looking for.

It seems a shame Sage can't display subtitles embedded in Divx files? I will email a feature request.

Cheers,
Mat.
