SageTV won't play mpeg 1 files

I could have swore that I used to be able to play mpeg 1 files in the past, but for some reason when I try to with Sage the screen sits there blank. Sometimes Sage acts like it trys to open the file and then it goes back to the video menu. The files play fine in all other media players and MPEG 2 files play just fine. Am I missing something or is Sage not supposed to play these files? This is the file info from Sage: Format: MPEG-1PS[MPEG1-Video 352x288@25fps, MP2/448kbps@44.1kHz Stero]

And I also included a screen shot of what WMP says about the file(s) I'm trying to play. I've tried a few different MPEG 1 files from different sources so it's definitely not just one file or a bad batch of files.

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated. I really don't want to trans code all those files I have.
Thanks!

I've had the same problem for quite awhile. In fact even some mpg 2's hose up. The problem gets much worse if you try to pump them through to an extender via sages server. Funny all my other players have no problem with them, including the Hauppage server software. Finally had to start transcoding my favorite ones.
Apparently this is not much of a priority to the sage developers.

I think that instead of adding "new" nifty features, they should concentrate on getting the base package to work!

Same here... I just upgraded to the Newest and Best SageTV in the history...of EVER, and what do you know...I can't play Mpeg 1 files. They play fine and dandy in Windows Media Player, but not in SageTV.

Seriously, what is the deal?

Anybody put in a bug report? This certainly is weird.

Same problem here. Mpeg 1 plays fine in windows media player. I have tried using the directshow filters and have no luck. this does not make any sense.
