mpeg audio error with usb headphones

I have some intermittant audio errors when I switch audio playback devices from the soundblaster sound card to my usb headphones. I have had them working successfully in the past. (just yesterday) This morning (around 6:30) I repeatedly ran accross this error. I included the sageTV log file and the error message window. When I would switch back to the soundblaster, everything would work properly.

I think you mixed up the log file. There wasn't an error in that one. Look at your other ones, if you see a FAILURE in them, that's what I'm looking for. There'll be an error code that'll give me more details of why this happened.

Thanks

Does the log file start anew with each successive restart of SageTV or is it a cumulative thing?

The 0 file is the most recent corrrect?

Yes, the log file starts over each time you restart SageTV, and the _0.txt file is the most recent.

Sorry about that. This one has the failure error related to the audio.

Here's the error:

HRESULT: VFW_E_NO_AUDIO_HARDWARE
Description: Cannot play back the audio stream: no audio hardware is available, or the hardware is not responding.

Try selecting an Audio Renderer. It should at least give you a different error message... Let me know.

This is so very strange.

I went through every renderer and came up with the various errors playback problems:

No Video, Mpeg2 Audio Error message.
Video, but no audio.
Video and audio. But Audio through main speakers, not headphones.

Never able to get the headphones to work......Kept playing around and hard crashed the system. Self rebooted.

After restarting SageTV, Setup wizard automatically came up like I had never installed before. Completed Setup.

USB headphones worked.

Switched to main speakers as playback device, they worked to, except I couldn't control the volume. Then I found that the volume control on the USB headphones now controlled the main speaker volume.

I included the SageTV log files from all the failures and the log files after the reboot.

I'm not sure what's really happening, but it's more than likely a problem with the headphone drivers than anything else.
