Multiple STBs, Same Provider, Different Lineups?

I have multiple STBs from my digital TV provider (Qwest Choice TV, Phoenix). The goal is to setup multiple capture cards in my HTPC so I can record multiple shows at the same time. So far, so good.

Problem: My STBs have slightly different channel lineups. STB #1 is HD and gets 25 extra channels, while STB #2 is SD-only. I need SageTV to be smart enough to only attempt recordings of channel 310 (HD) on STB #1 and not STB #2. I'm worried that Sage does not support this -- page 156 of the manual says:

Quote:
Note: The list of which channels are enabled or disabled is linked to a specific provider, not a capture device source, so if multiple sources use the same lineup, changing which channels are enabled in a particular lineup will affect all sources using that lineup.
Are there any suggestions / workarounds? Have I misunderstood the manual?

Disclaimer: This is a somewhat "theoretical" question at this point, as I don't have any way of capturing HD from my STB yet. (I'm hoping the upcoming Hauppauge HD PVR will work for this.)

Disclaimer #2: I'm not a SageTV user (yet), so I've never actually tinkered with any of this before. I want to make sure this solution will work for me before I spend any $$

You can choose the lineup for your zipcode for the box with HD channels and then set up a different lineup from a neighboring town (i.e. different zipcode) for the other STB. This will allow you to set up the channels for the two boxes independently. HTH

Mike

You can also borrow a channel from one lineup into another lineup (if your neighboring town's lineup is missing some of your channels) by using the "Remap to Different Station" feature in channel setup.

Perfect! Thank you MeInMaui & salsbst. It sounds like SageTV is pretty flexibile and can do exactly what I want, it just might take a little finesse. Exactly what I wanted to hear
