Placeshifter not saving settings

Config - Vista Business, Sage TV Placeshifter V6.3.5.159.

Downloaded the placeshifter client, licensed it, and getting very good results almost immediately - far exceeding my expectations! I even tried it today while my laptop was connected to the net by cellular modem card. Not bad if you make the window small enough!

However, I cannot get Sage to save my settings. Each time I close the 'Sage TV Placeshifter Servers Manager' window, and re-launch it, my settings are gone. It's easy enough to re-enter them as I've saved my location ID in a text file, but it's annoying.

Where are the settings saved? I am running as a non-local admin, but I've also tried running as a local admin with no change. I have to run without local admin rights per company policy though I do have an admin account's credentials for when I need to install anything.

Has anyone found a solution for this? It's happening for me on Windows XP.

I'm using PlaceShifter, I think the license is from an MVP that I turned off.

It seems PlaceShifter is able to detect/remember my local server, but I tried to setup a connection via the placeshifter locater id and it appears that it is not being stored.

I believe the logic goes something like this:

Placeshifter first checks the folder containing SageTVPlaceshifter.exe (typically C:\Program Files\SageTV\Placeshifter\) for a file called SageTVPlaceshifter.properties. If found, it will load settings from that file and attempt to save them back there when done. This works on XP, but may not work properly on Vista. (I'm not a Vista user so I can't confirm this.)

If the .properties file is not found there, it creates one in %USERPROFILE%\.sagetv\ (typically C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\.sagetv\) and saves the setting there when done. (Or at least that's how it works on XP.)
