Video Library Directory Structure on an MVP?
Okay, I resisted upgrade to V6 for as long as possible, but the HD Media Extender was re-released and I had to have it.
Mostly, I record, use ShowAnalyzer to identify comercials, and use VideoRedo to re-encode the videos to my import directories. I have several hundred shows organized into neatly packaged folders and subfolders. I installed V6 and now when I got to the imported videos from the MVP all the videos are listed without the directory structure. I can no longer "drill down" the directory substructure to find the video that I want to watch on the MVP. Is there a way to configure the MVP to display the directory structure? Is there some STV that I could use that would give me this ability? Thanks for any suggestions. |

Are you using the default v6 STV, or something else? If you aren't sure, then you can check on the System Information screen.
The video browser has multiple views -- select the Folder view to do what you want. For details about the browser, see the Video Browser section of chapter 3 in the PDF manual. - Andy

Thanks Opus, I had used a custom STV in the prior release and it appears to have been the problem. I switched it back to STV3.xml and I know see all the listing options.
PS. I expected to see an STV6, I guess I got the right one....? |

Yes, the SageTV3.xml STV that comes in the v6 installer is the one to use. System Info also lists the STV version, in addition to its filename.
The STV is not automatically reset to the default on extenders after installing a SageTV update; that's why you needed to manually select it. - Andy
