HD- Extender and stereo output...

Guys, just pulled the trigger on the HD extender... now I have a question. I have both HD and SD recordings but only stereo sound. I know with the client there is always trouble getting level audio between stereo v. 5.1 sound tracks. How is the HD extender for this? Is the only work around to get a 5.1 system (that may be an excuse!)

On one of my stx's , I have hooked up to the 36" stereo tv and watch various SD stereo and HD 5.1 shows. What I did was turned the volume up the tv and then control the volume via my stx, and have zero issues with volume control when switching from 5.1 to 2.0 all I had to do is use the sage remote to turn it up or down.

My extender is much better at keeping sound levels somewhat close for varying sources. Even though I made heavy tweaks to my PC client (AC3), I still had some shows that were very quiet. The extender does a really good job of this! I'm quite happy about that...
