New LCD HDTV -- 720P or 1360 x 768?

I have a brand new LG 37 inch LCD HDTV that supports both standard 720P (1280 x 720) or a native maximum resolution of 1360 x 768. I have both high end ATI and Nvidia cards that support both these resulutions that I can use with my dedicated SageTV client machine with this TV.

What is the best resolution to use -- the industry standard 720P or the true native resolution of the screen? 99.9% of the material played on this new HDTV will be SageTV 1080i Satelite and OTA HD files.

Go with the native resolution. Otherwise, you will have two separate scaling steps when playing back video (one in the PC and one in the TV) and picture quality will likely suffer.

Mike

Yep. Always go with the native resolution.
