Route of travel

This is a simple question im sure. If i have shared videos on one pc and i have sagetv server on another pc and i am using the hd media extender to access that shared video does it go like this:

homepc----->sagetv server------->hd extender

or

homepc------>hd extender


basically does everything come through the sagetv server first before going out to the hd extender?

Yes. The extender talks to the SageTV software running on the server which in turn would grab the video off the home PC.
