What do various outline colors mean?
I really hate to start a new thread but here goes.
What do the various colors of outline mean in the Sage Recording list mean? I think they are as follows, if someone else could confirm that would be great. Red = Manual Recording White = Favorite None = IR Yellow = Currently Recording I ask because I seem to have found a bug, I have two shows that were favorites earlier (White) and now I've watched them and probably started them again and now they appear as manuals (Red). |

bump.
What's with the changing to red? I'm begining to think it's marked for deletion, but I can't confirm. |

As near as I can tell Red is a Manual Recording. I've noticed recordings that I thought changed spontaneously to Manuals, but I think I've traced it back to me accidentaly hitting the record button.

All my manual recordings are red.
No outline seems to be IR. When I go through the upcoming recoding schedule, anything I mark as "don't like" gets outlined in black... before it eventually disappears. Is yellow really Currently Recording, or is it Live TV? When I preview an IR show, it doesn't get outlined at all, but the Live TV preview that starts when you first enter the recording list is outlined in yellow. [Edit: Duh... what kind of statement is _that_!? Of course Currently Recording is Live TV!!!!! ] And, of course, watched shows are italicized. Are there any other categories? - Andy Second Edit: Didn't edited msgs used to say they were edited? Third Edit: Ah, OK, now there's the "Last edited" msg... guess it doesn't show up if you edit a post immediately. Last edited by Opus4; 02-05-2004 at 09:30 PM. |

Ah, I see what I did. I wanted to be sure that a certain episode got recorded so I could watch it later, in between two others. This show happened to be one of my favorites, so the show title got highlighted red.
I guess there's no 'death row' indication from sage, is there? It just get's the boot, and it's gone. Now that I think about it. It would be nice to have some sort of warning before shows were automatically deleted, but I guess that 's what the library is for... |

You could also go to the Favorites Manager, click on the show to go to its details & turn off Auto delete. (Change it to Manual.)

Yeah, but then I get 45 friends episodes and nothing else...

I know... but that brings up a wish I've had for quite some time: that you could set the show to Manual Delete & then set a max # of shows to record. It would then stop recording new shows when the max was reached & only record a new one after you manually delete one.
Come to think of it, I haven't tried that yet in v2... - Andy |

The other thing I would like, (and this isn't sage's fault but ESPN's) is a way to not have sportscenter record 5 times a night. I would like it to record one show every night, then free up the rest of the time slots for IR shows. I have it set now to only keep one show, but it still records every show it can. It's set to the lowest priority on my favorites right now, but i'm still missing the IR functionality because of it.

Here Here! This is one of my pet peeves. If you look at the program info for PBS News hour with Lehrer, first run was 1985 so the first run rerun filter will never work. The local pbs station broadcasts it twice a day and Sage dutifully records it twice a day.
The solution would be to specify show time each day. Or a more elegant way would be to specify recording a showid only once. How about it Dan? Last edited by glbrown; 02-06-2004 at 05:32 PM. |

I second the requests by both Crashless and Opus4.

Once the 'record by time/channel' is implemented this problem will mostly go away, but it still isn't the most elegant solution b/c then it won't record movies intelligently around those times (or whatever). Ideally, a "record once per day' would be needed. Then it can get whichever is convenient.
Obviously not a huge priority, but still annoying for certain program types. |
