Parental Control In The UK?

I haven't actually tried it, but it looks to me like the SageTV API is agnostic about the actual rating values. You just tell it which values to allow and which to lock out. So conceivably this could be done by an add-on that uses your local rating values in place of the US values.

But again, I'm just guessing based on the API docs. You'd need some UK-based programmer type to try it out to see it it actually works that way.

Will there ever be a way to use parental control in the UK? We obviously have different ratings (e.g., 18 instead of R), but could Sage not implement some sort of mapping menu?

If your guide data come from XMLTV, you can use my XMLTV Importer (see signature), and you'll be able to remap the XMLTV parental ratings to SageTV ratings.

All good, except radio times doesn't have PC data, and I was more thinking of my DVD collection

For DVD I don't know how you can change parental ratings. Though if the DVDs are imported videos, can you not use the Web Server plugin to edit the ratings?

DVDs use the same rating system for the default stv. I can redo the DVDs (I use profiler), but I'd have to give them US ratings, and I don't want to.
