Client vs. Placeshifter?

I have a Pentium III 1GHz system with 384MB RAM that will not be connected to a TV but it does have a 19" monitor. I would like to put this in my daughters room so she can play nickjr.com and use it to watch tv.

I currently have an extra Placeshifter license and no client licenses. I assume these are different right?

What's the advantage of Client vs Placeshifter? It appears I can use a remote with eigther, correct?

Appreciate any feed back you may have.

Not trying to be snarky, but if you do a search for Client vs Placeshifter, you'll find several threads dedicated to this topic. There's also a FAQ item.

Basic gist is that

* Client will play DVD's along with some advanced video settings
* Placeshifter can be used either on the LAN or across the Internet
* Client licenses are per-machine; Placeshifter licenses are for concurrent usage.

There's more stuff than that, but like I said, it's been covered several times before, and those three seem to be (IMO) the big issues for most people.

BTW, you can use a remote with either.
