Webscheduler recordings - playing back in SageTV
Hi,
I record my television via WebScheduler creating .ts files. Using the SageTV decoder seems to provide me with the best overall picture for live TV viewing but for some reason playing back the .ts videos plays for a few seconds then just stops. I've tried various combinations of FSE, DeInterlacing modes, etc. but nothing help. Can anyone please provide a suggestion as to why this may be happening? Using NVidia PureVideo decoder the WebScheduler recorded .ts files playback fine. However, I cannot watch continuous playback as SageTV seems to only play until when it first opened the file. I believe Transport Streams can continue to playback as this is possible in Zoom Player using a filter called TSFileSource. I don't mind using Zoom Player to play things back although I find FSE in SageTV should be turned on for best picture in my scenario and when configure SageMC to use an external player it has difficulties in returning to SageTV when Zoom Player exits. Sometimes I get a white screen, other times SageTV stays minimised. When SageTV does return it's no longer in FSE mode either. My preference is for playback in SageTV as it can produce an AWESOME picture. Hopefully someone can help me get the SageTV decoder to playback a .ts file recorded via WebScheduler, AND, how to continue playback whilst recording a show via WebScheduler. Thanks. |

I believe TS files are not supported. See here:

Is your DVB card supported in SageTV? Sage records the .ts file in an mpeg wrapper so it's actually an program screen. Sage also has a plugin for webscheduling. Nielm's Web User interface for Sage. Has all the features and more and takes advantage of Sage's features. Check it out.
You could try making the change to see if it plays any better for you but it is NOT recommended. Quote:
