FM tuner

Any plugins to allow my FM tuner to work in SageMC?

Guys, this is the only thing missing from HTPC (ability to use my FM tuner in Sage). Is anything in the works?

Hasn't been for years. I think there was a plugin that sort of worked. But nothing had come from Sage to control the FM tuner.

I believe that is something that would probably have to be supported in the SageTV core. I am not aware of any plans to support it.

Mike

I use a plugin that works in the Default STV. Not sure what it is but I have been using it for a while. So one should be able to be created in for SageMC.

Could someone check to see if the attached version works with SageMC? If so, then it should just be a matter of changing the screen to match the look and feel of SageMC. If not, then it will take some work and I probably have too much on my plate at the moment to take that kind of project on. I don't have access to a computer with a tuner at the moment, so I can't test it myself.

To install, extract the FM_Radio.xml file to your ...\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3 folder and import it into SageMC. You will then have to link to the 'Music - FM Radio' menu using either a custom menu or the dynamic menus. Thanks.

Mike

While you're at it, people (including myself) have wanted a alarm function for the FM tuner, Something smart would be nice, here's what I'd like to replace:
Currently HomeSeer (running on my HA server) has a event that on weekdays looks at a calender database and if today is a work day (not a holiday or vacation day), then at 6AM it sends an series of IR comands that:
Turns on a mini receiver in the bedroom, then tunes in my favorite FM station, and finally slowly raises the volume to a not too loud level.
Before I leave for work I send a X10 signal (with a keypad) to HomeSeer which reverses the process, lowers the volume and turns off the receiver.
It would be nice if STV could replace this setup.

I volunteered as the guinea pig. It worked. I'd love to see this added to "fit-in" with SageMc - thanks!

I got it installed also, but don't have my 1800 installed yet. Is it working good for you? How is the sound quality and ability to tune stations?

I found the FM tuner only worked with certain tuner cards (such as the Hauppauge 150 or 500 I think howerver, not with the NVideo Dual TV).

Anyways, I solved the problem by using the Slimplayer which plays internet radio and I can get a few stations in my area on the internet but there are internet stations everywhere.

It works on both my Client and my HDX, but is *very* choppy after about 10 seconds on both. Quite a bummer actually, I'm not sure why. Any ideas?

I've got a Hauppauge 350 and I know the tuner used to work great when I was testing other PVR's a while back.

I'd LOVE to see something like this built for SageMC...with recording, timeshifting, etc.

I tried it with my new 1800. It either crashes Sage after a few seconds or gets VERY choppy and pretty much useless. Can someone PLEASEEEEE fix this plugin so it works? I"m looking to buy an extender and the only thing missing from my media center is FM radio. Doesn't anyone else want to see this feature work in Sage?

I've been asking for it since I started using Sage, so I'm on board with ya SageGk! <grin>

This is an overlooked feature that lots of folks like when searching for PVR software.

I'll jump on this bandwagon...

Since I've added the R5000, I have a spare tuner on my 500 card... it would be sweet to get FM working in a user friendly way (especially on both extenders).

If enough people request it, maybe someone or Sage will implement it?
