Mac 6.4.0 beta Placeshifter - no video

Bummer. So I'm trying the new Mac beta Placeshifter on a local LAN and I get no video whatsoever (on a MacBook running 10.5.2). Doesn't matter whether the source recording is HD or not. I've tried with & without post-processing enabled and Dynamic Streaming and no-transcoding options. No difference. It did also manage to send my SageTV service (6.3.10, on XP) into a CPU hog, no more connections allowed-state as well. Sigh.

Should I throw away some preference files on the Mac or something and start over?

No video here either, but the video is capturing as is evident by the screen clip in the program guide. This is placeshifter on OS 10.5.2 MBP 2.6Ghz Penryn.

Nope no video for the placeshifter, at times I can see some flicker.

On the bright side it scales now, even up to 1900x1200 and for the most part the OSD seems to stay in sync.

Whereas the new client has video but the OSD is out of whack pretty quickly, especially when scaling. Scaling video works now almost as desired.

Can you try disabling transcoding in the Placeshifter settings? It's not a solution (maybe a workaround) but might give us a clue as to where to look.

Are you running at a user interface resolution of more than 1.00x (72dpi)?

What hardware, OS and GPU do you have?

Still black screen for me after disabling transcoding. Is this now using the QuickTime engine? Does anyone else have Perian installed?

B

PS - I just sent my XML profile into the beta address.

Disabling transcoding does not make a difference for me. I have tried a C2D iMac, running 10.5.2 with the Radeon X1600 at 1680x1050 and a new C2D mini running 10.5.2 at 1900x1200.

Interface resolution is - 1080/10.8 inches = 100dpi? I don't know. Where can I see that?

It's an option in QuartzDebug, a tool installed with XCode, if you haven't ever run it then you'll be at the default setting of 72 dpi.

Is this only happening with live video or does it also happen with previously recorded (or imported) shows?

Thanks for the profile, that'll help narrow it down if it's hardware related.

It's still using mplayer, for the moment...

I did not touch that one, and it's happening for both.

I have tested on a PPC Mac same issue. I also uninstalled Perian as well on the C2D, no change. Both machines running Leopard and fully patched.
