Hello,

I've completed and posted in the downloads area a custom set of genre folder icons. This is a work in progress, I've only completed the genres that I use so far.

I've been running the CenterSage theme (thanks bialio, awesome theme!!) and I think these look great on it but I've not tested it with other themes yet. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Screenshots:

Download them here

Hi,

I love these. I'm sure you were expecting some requests

Please could you do the following, as time permits:

Animation
Classic (e.g. Citizen Kane etc.)
Documentary
Music (not Musical)
Sport
War

Thanks for your efforts.

Regards,

Nick.

Very nice. And thanks for having the forethought of including the .psd template. Maybe you can get some help in creating more of these.

Thanks for the comments! Give me a couple days for family time and I'll work on your requests. My wife thinks our tv should start acting like a tv and not a computer....she just doesn't get it.

I spent alot of time trying to figure out what graphics made sense for each genre, any ideas you have would help alot. (I started over on several genres, just didn't like them) I was already thinking something WWII for war.

Again, thanks everyone for your comments!!

Hi,

I'll give you a few suggestions for the ones that I wanted

Animation (Tom and Jerry)
Classic (Marlon Brando as The Godfather))
Documentary (not sure, perhaps David Attenborough, but that's a bit nature)
Music (Drum kit or guitar)
Sport (Picture of a football, or may be a few different types of balls)
War (Spitfire)

Regards,

Nick.

I echo gplasky's thanks. Unfortunately, I've tried to open the template on two separate machines, and I get the following error:
Could Not Open (path to file) because there is not enough memory (RAM).

I am attempting to open with Photoshop Elements, so this might be the cause. Is anyone else having the problem?

Humm, not sure about Elements, I don't use it. I created the template with Photoshop CS2. I tried it with my wife's laptop (old P3) that has CS2 installed, it opened on it as well.

Have you tried Gimp? ...it's free and similar to Photoshop (yeah, it's free so don't expect ALL the functions of Photoshop, but it can read all the PSD documents and does the job fairly well ) I just tested the latest version and it worked w/ no issues on my machine.

Opened fine for me. Gave a warning about some fonts missing and they would be substituted. Other than than that it opened fine. Photoshop Elements 6.

First ... I love these icons! Great job!!!

Second ... I have a question for all the DVDProfiler users. How do you use a genre folder image with a genre category that has an illegale character in it? eg. I select "Suspense/Thriller" in DVD profiler, but I can't name the folder icon "Suspense/Thriller" because of the "/" character. Is there a way around this? DVD Profiler doesn't let you rename an existing genre category. (eg. Suspense/Thriller to Thriller)

I thought I'd ask before I manually do it for a number of movies.

Thanks.

Try using the _ underscore character.

That might work, I don't know, but I use a hyphen '-' which does work.

Nick.
