Support for non-SageTV media extender hardware? (And using it in the UK)

I'm putting together a SageTV-based system in the UK. We can't get the SageTV HD extender over here (I found Tranquil who are importing them, but no stock). Can I use any other manufacturer's hardware? Like the Linksys DMA2100 or Buffalo LT-H90LAN or any others? The Hauppauge MediaMVP doesn't suit my purpose as it only has a scart output and it too is hard to get hold of.

Any help would be much appreciated.

You can use any extender that supports SAMBA (windows file sharing). Just have Sage record to the shared directory, and most any extender will be able to stream from that directory...

The MVP and HD100 are the only extenders that connect directly to the SageTV server & display the SageTV interface.

But, in case you meant that you aren't able to order from SageTV because of your location: I believe you can order from the SageTV store & have it shipped to you... just not right now, obviously, since it isn't in stock. There were shipments to Europe while the last batch was in.

Thanks...I did mean that I wanted to connect to the SageTV interface, so I need to get hold of one of the Sage extenders. Will the HD work in the UK without modification?

Thanks for your swift response!
