Where are recording dates/times stored?
I was hoping someone might be able to tell me where the recording dates/times are stored (ie what file). I want to check when recordings are coming up without having to open up SageTV. I'm guessing there stored in binary format, but if someone knew where the information was I was thinking of writing a quick Java program to grab them and put them in a simple window for quick viewing. So does anyone know what files contain the Recording date/Time? Thanks

I believe that all of that data is stored in wiz.bin in the SageTV directory. However, it isn't clear to me if what you have in mind is a violation of the EULA or not. If I were you, I certainly wouldn't post or make available this kind of code without getting Freys okay to do so.

I remeber someone on here wrote a parser for a piece of code to wake the computer beofre a recording, so they must be available. Searching for 'power management' or the like should allow you to find that thread,

Thanks you're right it's definitly in the Wiz.bin file somewhere, and it is stored in Binary format. I guess I didn't think about the EULA, all I want is just to be able to do a quick check on when I need to leave my computer on. Currently I don't have a dedicated HTPC, and I don't like to leave my computer on all the time, but it takes a while for SageTV to load and finally get to the menu. So that's my main reasoning behind this. I'll probably send an e-mail off soon to get an OK on it. Maybe they already have something like this planned.

You're right, I see that functionality was there. I will still most likely create a quick Java app to parse it and create something a little more aesthetically pleasing. Thanks for the help.
