No audio with Nero Recode H.264 files

I'm running the trial version of SageTV and I've tried all the settings in the audio/video section. I've got ffdshow installed and everything works fine in media player and vista media center. When I kick off the mp4 file in SageTV, I get the video, but no sound (i've tried both H.264/AAC and H.264/AC3). I tried using AC3Filter, but no luck. I also tried all the audio rendered listed in the settings. I checked the log file and it is using ffdshow for video and audio.

My setup: all HDMI 1.3 connections

AMD 780G HTPC -> onkyo 805 -> Sony LCD

Vista 32bit
4GB RAM

I'm about to give up on the whole thing because I can't get any audio at all from these file yet every other application I use works fine. What decoder settings do you have on your SageTV server?

I just have a standard install without any tweaking. I believe it is the HD Extender which is doing the decoding.
