firewire and Pace STB

My SA 3225HD recently died and Comcast replaced it with a Pace STB. has anyone gotten this one to work with Firewire channel changing?

Ugh, I had a pace box a few years ago and could never get it to work. You should go to their office and bother them until they give you another SA.

I can change channels on mine, but the Firewire stream is bad - and prevents my other STB (Motorola DCT6200) from working.

Anybody else had one of these work?

Which model PACE is that you have? I'm switching to SageTV and have been controlling my PACE STB with a USB-UIRT in BTV. Haven't got it to work yet in SAGE (posted yesterday), so I'm interested if you get it to work via firewire.

Pace Firewire

DCT-700x

I can change channels but stream is bad - it's not encrypted but has dropout about every 5 seconds. I'm building a new Sage server this week, so I'll try it with the new one to see if it's a hardware issue.

I'm controlling a Pace STB just fine over firewire, but I'm doing it from Linux, which is quite different than the way Sage does it on Windows. I've never tried grabbing video over FW.

With all the scattered info on firewire channel changing and recording over the forums. Anyone know where I can find the latest, most up to date info on firewire channel changing for the motorola dct boxes and how to get it to work with Sagetv and the HD PVR? thanks.

If it's a Motorola I think Tim Moore's stuff should still work:

And updated drivers are here:

To just change the channels you will need this.
