SageTV slow to start

I have a strage behaviour during the startup of SageTV.
When start the SW, the CPU load is increasing but the splash screen is very slow to appear. If I do nothing, sagetv takes at least 5 minutes to start (if it does).

But if I right-click on the task bar immediatly after launching the SW, the splash screen appears and sageTV starts in about 20 seconds!!!! And is working proprely!

Has somebody else the same behaviour?

My config: AMD 2000+, MB MSI Ultra2, ATI radeon 7000(with latest driver), Hauppauge PVR350 (with latest driver), 200GB HD

I am having the same problem. What is the frequency of your problem. Mine happens about 30-50% of the time. I have not tried clicking on the task bar,however I found that I could get around my problem by having the task manager up and right-clicking on the sagetv task.

With my problem after the splash screen is displayed, the "Creating Multimedia Player", "Priming User Interface Manager", and "Building User Interface Skin" states all progress very sloooooooooooowly. Once Sage gets to the "Object DB is loading" state it seems to speed up.

I config is XP Pro, P4 2.5 Mhz, ATI 9700 Pro, 1 PVR 350's, 2 PVR 250's

I have this problem if I remove sage.properties and let sage create a new one on startup. With my sage.properties it comes up very fast. This seems to point to a simple entry in the file that would fix this.

it happens all the time except after a reboot.
When it happens, the CPU usage is 100% and I can't do anything else...
